Having been close to the motoring press for many years, I chuckled at the term 'wankpanzer' being used for cybertrucks, but when Uncle Elon did that salute, then some really smart folk came up with ‘Swasticars’ which fits all Teslas perfectly. The term swasticar has been pushed fantastically into the limelight by great organisations like everyone hates elon and many others.
Let's face it, Tesla's stock value (which underpins Elon’s wealth) is based on promises FAR outweighing reality. Teslas are not capable of safe self-driving. They can't even pass the roadrunner test. Problems with build quality have been a long term issue, most recently highlighted by the glue in the cybertruck forcing a recall. The cybertaxi looks like it won’t materialise any time soon, and when it does, it’ll certainly not be what was promised.
Tesla have been long eclipsed by the mainstream car manufacturers with real standards for safety and technology, so how does Tesla still maintain its stock value? This Reuters article is a great read.
